Forsyth County has proposed a 50,000 sq foot events center in Tanglewood Park between the horse stables and shelter #2. This project includes barns for 200 horses, horse trailer parking, and additional paved parking for 350 vehicles. 

We oppose this project because it will 1.) spoil the natural beauty of the park, impair recreational users’ enjoyment of the park, and destroy wildlife habitat; 2) Consume the county's limited financial resources with little hope of returning the investment or breaking even; 3.) potentially endanger or displace the park’s current horse population; 4.) Contribute to storm water run-off and flooding within the park and surrounding neighborhoods; 5.) Contribute to traffic congestion in the community.
 

Join us in defending Tanglewood Park from further urbanization:

• IMPORTANT! Complete the county's short survey which closes on September 12. Question 3 is optional; you may leave it blank if you do not wish for the county to site an events center anywhere within the park)
• Sign the AGAINST Tanglewood Events Center online petition. Please sign with your first and last name and do not use a VPN connection as the petition may record your signature as coming from outside the country. 
• Send an email to the Forsyth Board of Commissioners
• Write a letter to the editor. Send you letter to as many new outlets as you can. See list at the link.
• Speak at a meeting of the Forsyth Board of Commissioners. We really need speakers at these meetings!
